Harry Binks

Harry went to Fisher Park High School, and graduated from Queen’s University with his Bachelor of Commerce in 1977. He is a Canadian Certified Insurance Broker, a Chartered Insurance Professional, and a Canadian Risk Manager. In 2005, he returned to Queen’s to obtain his MBA.
He has been President and CEO of Binks Insurance Brokers Limited since he was 18. Binks is a fourth generation family business celebrating 100 years in business in 2018, and is a Commercial Insurance Brokerage specializing in Dealerships, Technology Firms, and Non-Profit Associations, and helping many other Ottawa area businesses with their Risk Management. Harry is now an Account Executive with Jones DesLauriers and a partner in Navacord.
Harry’s father and grandfather were both Rotarians, but he joined Kiwanis at an early age. He was President of the Fisher Park Key Club, President of Queen’s Circle K Club, Governor of Eastern Canada & the Caribbean, Vice-President of Circle K International, and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa.
Harry has been President of the Ottawa Insurance Brokers Association, Director of the Ontario Insurance Brokers Association, and Chairman of the Centre for the Study of Insurance Operations. He has been on the Boards of Directors of the Great Canadian Theatre Company and Family Services Ottawa.
He has three daughters, and four grandchildren, all of whom cheer him on when he’s climbing mountains.
