Partner, Risk Management Leader – Complex Risk

Kyle serves as Partner, Risk Management Leader at Navacord, bringing over 15 years of experience in enterprise risk management, insurance strategy, and contractor risk governance across complex, asset-intensive industries. He advises executive leadership teams on aligning risk financing, contractual protections, and operational controls with broader business objectives. Kyle supports boards and senior executives by translating complex risk analytics into clear, decision-ready insights that protect brand integrity, revenue continuity, and long term asset value.

Prior to joining Navacord, Kyle spent more than a decade with Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway (CPKC), a publicly traded organization with a market capitalization exceeding $100 billion. There he led enterprise risk, insurance, and contractor risk management across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, including oversight of the company’s captive insurance structure. His work included aligning governance, loss control, and risk transfer strategies across a highly regulated North American transportation network, as well as supporting business continuity planning and corporate emergency response initiatives. Kyle held similar roles at large Canadian energy companies prior to joining CPKC.

Kyle also brings significant experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and structuring indemnification frameworks, insurance specifications, and contractual risk allocation provisions that reduce financial and reputational exposure while preserving commercial flexibility. During his time at CPKC, he also contributed to the successful acquisition of Kansas City Southern Railway and received the CPKC CEO Award of Excellence in 2019 for advancing innovative risk solutions.

He previously served as President of the American Association of Railroads – Risk Insurance Management Association and as a Director with the Alberta RIMS Chapter. Kyle is also a qualified Railcar Inspector and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Royal University, along with the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Risk Manager (CRM) designations.
