POSITION OVERVIEW:
JD Consulting is looking for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic team of consulting professionals in our Group Benefits and Retirement Division. As a strategic planner and thinker, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is directly responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the organizations operational policies, objective and initiatives. The COO will focus on the ongoing, day to day management of the organizations business model and internal processes to ensure maximum productivity and revenue.
As COO, you are a problem solver who likes change and innovation, who drives results, who is a motivating team builder. The COO will be responsible for delivering the strategic vision and of the brokerage through the implementation and management of sound operational practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Leadership
•Work collaboratively with the leadership team and consultants to support and drive organic growth initiatives
•Assist with JD Consulting’s growth strategy including any pre and post due diligence/integration
•In partnership with the President, develop and execute on the strategic vision and strategic plan and steers the delivery of the business initiatives
•Inspire, guide and communicate directly with the management team and employees consistently
•Allocates and deploys resources appropriately to enable leaders to deliver on their initiatives and objectives
•Exhibit a leadership style that fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, accountability and collaboration
•Establish a high performance sales culture which includes sales meeting, sales development summits, internal collaboration, and strong mentorship expectations
•Lead, drive and support the business operations through strategy, operating plan, administrative budgets and processes
•Perform financial measurements and analysis to establish operational matrix resulting in sound operational business decisions.
•Work collaboratively with regulators and ensures compliance for the organization
•Builds strong relationships with critical marketplace stakeholders, including key clients, partners and other strategic relationships
Operations
•Determine staffing needs for the business and allocate compensation budget accordingly based on business needs
•Oversees the design of the organization and its structure, capabilities, and processes to enable the delivery of the organizational objectives
•Develop and establish operating policies consistent with the strategic vision and objectives of the company
•Lead the client experience through innovative IT solutions and operational best practices
•Direct internal operations to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria
•Strategically identify problems/threats, analyzing risks and assessing outcomes related to potential solutions
•Evaluate and take action of overall operations for quality control regularly and systematically
•Safeguarding company’s best practices while ensuring legal compliancy and establishing new ones to stay competitive in the insurance marketplace
•Participate in the development and preparation of short-term and long-range plans and budgets based upon broad organization goals and objectives
•Prepare for and attend the quarterly business updates with the Navacord executives
REQUIREMENTS:
•Minimum 10+ years of experience at senior management level preferably in a Consulting company/ brokerage setting
•An impressive academic background consisting of post secondary education, certificates, industry programs etc.
•In-depth knowledge of Group Benefits and Pension, Financial Management and Strategic Planning solutions
•Strong initiative and strategic thinking abilities
•Strong leadership skills and the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
•Proved track record of generating strong and sustainable business outcomes over the long term
•Experience in successfully navigating in a heavily regulated environment
•Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills required to affect change and to build effective working relationships
•Solid knowledge and understanding of how products and services impact customer needs and develop processes to improve quality
•Ability to influence and inspire a workforce and maintain the confidence of an organization through integrity, stewardship, diversity & inclusion, collaboration, empowerment and innovation
