Commercial Lines: Account Assistant

Jones DesLauriers is hiring an Account Assistant for our Port Hope location. The incumbent will report to the Account Director and may also take direction from other managers. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the input of new business and marketing documents, the set up of new business proposals and other administrative duties to enhance the team’s effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Issue certificates of insurance for assigned Account Managers and send to appropriate insurer
  • Generate automobile pink slips for renewals and endorsements
  • Run MVRs/driver abstracts
  • Input claims, and new clients into Agency manager
  • Advanced knowledge of excel to create detailed and intricate reports
  • Filing, Photocopying, Faxing, drop filing
  • Check policy documents against binders issued
  • Creating policy binders to send out to clients
  • Assist with processing of mail and endorsements for the team
  • Scanning and creating certificates of insurance
  • Prepare renewal requests to the clients 60 days in advance
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years commercial insurance experience preferred
  • R.I.B.O is required and working towards C.I.P. or C.A.I.B. designation
  • Client development / relationship management experience
  • Superb interpersonal skills, presentation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to be a self starter with strong written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills
  • Advanced skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and TAM
